This week I have been captured by the joy some people live in when it seems like the opposite response to the circumstance at hand.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say it has me challenged to the core… again?. Too often we look at what we believe is missing from our lives, rather than the masses of blessing which exist in our worlds.
Anyway, it had my brain a buzz, and I just thought I’d share. I’m actually challenged to write a list of the things I’m thankful for, so let’s go…
• Licorice, it’s a random first on the list, so I’ll tell you to know the list isn’t in order of importance ??
• My home, which I adore, along with the garden (and its winter weeds)
• My Jesus…man, I’d be such a weird crazy girl without God
• My lunch crew that I do food with every day… they are the best at laughing and making the day fun
• And my job, friends, family, car, my sister car (which I seem to drive more than mine LOL).
I’m thankful for the team I work with, the laughs I have in the office every day, people to share a laugh with, people to cry with, people who feed you chocolate and other treats. I’m thankful for my education, and the way God has helped me overcome learning difficulties. I’m thankful for the opportunities and chances to try new things. I’m thankful for the people who see things in me, I don’t see and call me up higher. I’m thankful for the people I have who challenge me to grow and be a better person. I’m thankful for sleep (even when it seems to be avoiding me this week).
I’m really thankful for new beginnings and new adventures. I love that the Bible says “His mercies are new every morning”, He knew exactly what we would need. It’s so good to do life with a good and kind God, who doesn’t make life tougher but helps us through the difficult times.
What I’m most thankful for is the sense that even though July is almost here, I have this feeling that what is going to unfold in this year is only just beginning and that it is all right on time. It’s not calendar-based but God based and that He is just about to show exactly how much He does live outside the confines of time. I’m excited and expectant to see some miracles occur out of the blue. To be wow-ed time and time again by the utter goodness and kindness of a God who loves us beyond measure. I’m so thankful I can’t really describe it. And I guess that is my point. When you shift your focus from what you think you’re missing to what you actually have your whole perspective moves and it is here that waves of wonder and thankfulness start to crash consistently on the shores of your lives.

So, that’s it from me. A short thought, but one that hopefully helps you refocus on what’s important in life.
Until next time,
Happy Pondering xx
